The Rhode Island Foundation and a team of influential women launched the Women's Fund of Rhode Island in November 2001, joining more than 100 similarly-focused funds operating in the United States and in countries around the world.

We are working to "level the playing field" for women and girls - to champion fairness, impartiality, shared power and responsibility in all spheres of personal and community life - economic, cultural, social, and political.
