The Women's Fund was launched in November of 2001 with a $2.5 million challenge grant from The Rhode Island Foundation. Our goal is to double that amount by 2006.

Improve the odds for daughters, sisters, mothers, wives, partners, lovers, friends and neighbors...maybe even yourself.

All donors giving $10,000 or more by
December 31, 2006 are honored as Founders...

...of the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island and recognized as such in perpetuity.

Gifts in excess of $100,000 can endow (and name) special programs or projects...

...of the Women’s Fund; for example, the Jane N. Doe Gender Equity Conference.

Gifts of at least $5,000 can establish a named fund in perpetuity...

...in honor of you, a loved one or other individual, a family or an organization.

Gifts of any amount are urgently needed...

...because every gift is a statement, a statement of your commitment to justice for women and girls, now and for the future.

Enroll a favorite girl in the Giving Girls Club...
...and teach the next generation how and why to give. Minimum gift: $2,500. Girls, ages 5-17, receive age-appropriate materials to help them learn about philanthropy and can partake in special Club activities. When a Club member reaches age 18, she begins participating in the grant-making process of the Women’s Fund.

Life income gifts
With certain types of gifts, you (or your beneficiary) can receive income for life. The Rhode Island Foundation offers a variety of popular options, including charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts.
