Public Policy Advocacy

Engage. Shifting societal norms requires local, state, and federal level policy change – we encourage women to engage in public policy advocacy, and to become politically active at all levels.

“Rhode Island needs a constant drumbeat to encourage women, particularly young women to participate in politics and run for office. This takes courage and the ability to raise money. Rhode Island is in a deficit position in regard to women in public office, and public service in government. Training women to serve is very important for the state.”

– Carol Golden, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer at The Rhode Island Foundation.
