Marcia Among Women of Achievement Honorees
This fall the YWCA team assembled an impressive and inspiring group of women, including our own Marcia Coné, to highlight in its Seventh Women in Achievement Luncheon.
Among the honorees were former Women's Fund board members Joan Countryman, and Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson. Also recognized were Betty Adler, Nancy Carriuolo, Gigi DiBello, Jodi L. Glass, Deborah A. Gist, Carolyn Mark, Gina M. Raimondo and Joyce L. Stevos.
According to YWCA Northern RI Chief Executive Director Deborah Perry, these women "are breaking new ground and old barriers."
"It is a privilege to be able to invest in women and girls in our state, to engage in conversations about solutions from every imaginable demographic and be a conduit for women and girls to take action on their behalf and on behalf of their community," said Marcia.
The nationally recognized annual award is given to ten women selected by previous awardees from a list of 100 community leaders nominated by their peers. The mission of the YWCA Northern RI is to empower women and eliminate racism. According to Perry, these women exemplify that mission. Nuria Chantre
