Most people are unaware that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We generally recognize it as a month dedicated to raising awareness (and money) for breast cancer. It gets a bit more attention because breast cancer does not have a stigma and it’s not the victim’s fault.

I’ve been fascinated watching the Occupy Wall Street protests against economic inequity as they proceed in New York City and in other cities around the country. My favorite sign from the protests so far is “Lost my job but found an occupation.” The Occupy Providence protest is scheduled to officially kick off on Saturday, October 15th.
